One of the many reasons in an endless list of reasons as to why I love Louis more than anything or anyone, is cause he's such a cunty bitch. A sad one, but I digress. He really is a mean girl at heart, don't let his sad boi exterior fool you. I will also die on this hill when I say that he loves gossip, not starting it or even actively partaking in spilling tea to other people. No, I fully believe that he loves hearing about the latest drama going around. (not that he'd ever admit it of course. Constantly denying it because gossiping is 'uncivil' or whatever) Say for example, if someone came to him asking "did you hear about what 'so and so' did to 'whoever else'?" or something like that, Louis would be like "no, it's none of my business. Besides I don't like gossip". But when said other person goes to tell Louis about it, he'll act like he's uninterested but really this is the highlight of his evening.
look. the thing is……..this show is so obsessed with whatever “fucked up gothic romance” they’re trying to market to people to the point of completely ignoring the characters and their specific traits that MAKE them gothic monsters to begin with??? louis killing lestat is so fucking beyond the point of the book like it just baffles me!!!!
like, yeah it’s really fucked up to watch him hold lestat close and slit his throat but you know what was MORE fucked up to begin with??? lestat genuinely wanting to make amends with claudia, and being blindsided by this fledgling they’ve created with no ounce of humanity. lestat calling out to louis for help and louis frozen with indecision, petrified and horrified both by the act itself and the realization that claudia has the capacity for such an act.
i don’t think it was cruel to have louis kill lestat. i think the crueler option was to give claudia the final blow she deserves and have louis watch, and do absolutely nothing.
the tragedy of louis and lestat isn’t that they love each other through violence, the tragedy is that they are creatures damned exist for eternity as the purest versions of themselves.
louis, at his core, is indecisive and scared. he thinks himself into a corner and, having convinced himself of his own delusion of having no power, either refuses to act under dire circumstances, or acts with deadly impulse.
lestat, at his core, is so desperate to be loved that he suffocates and destroys those around him. he acts under the impression that no one could ever truly love him, and having convinced himself of that, becomes selfish and cruel and incapable of reason.
lestat’s death was the perfect summation of all these qualities and they fucking BUNGLED IT.

Listen. No matter the pairing, the setting, the plot, or the pov….I gotta have my boy Louis. Idk why I got so attached to him lmao like I said this in discord the other day but like, the reason I originally started writing Louis was only because I saw him as like a self-insert way to ship with Lestat (CLASSIC teen vampire-lover move lmfao). But then the more I wrote him, the more I realized I actually really really love him!
And now 10 years later I just feel so weirdly territorial over Louis lmfao like he’s one of those characters who I feel like gets a lot of love and attention when it comes to shipping, but on his own I never really see the same hype so idk I kinda took that and ran with it and now I’m your resident Louis girlie. I just think he’s neat. He’s sad and wet and pathetic and cruel and violent and smart and most of all he is so, so WEIRD.
To me, Louis feels pretty malleable of as well, so it’s just easiest for me to imagine him in the most Situations. He’s not as emotionally unstable as Lestat, but idk I always felt like he had a great range! He’s an anchor for Lestat and Armand, but he also depends on them a lot for his own sanity. He’s this paragon of morality, but he kills with 0 regard for human life. He takes himself very seriously but he’s still out there dressing in capes and being his boyfriend’s #1 Groupie.
There are so many contradictions to Louis, so as a writer it just feels like such a treasure trove to play with.
I think the tragedy of Louis is that he never fully comprehends what a comfort he is to people, myself included. Maybe one day I’ll write something without him, but for now the Louis Brainrot persists and I’m in no rush to get rid of it lmfao.

I, personally, was not in Prague. I do, however, have contact with some people who were there.
I can’t give any more details than that as I gave my word. 🤐
What I can say is what I posted earlier. Sam and Jacob are the real deal when it comes to being deeply bonded best friends. They are joined at the hip and Sam was there for Jacob during a heavy scene, which isn’t surprising to me as Jacob said that Sam was constantly checking on him and making sure he was okay last season when they started filming Louis’ depression era.
No matter what happens with the show, those two meeting is the best thing that could’ve happened. Their type of connection and friendship is rare and precious.
